For anyone who doesn’t know, on Wednesday June 26 the Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), and declined to review the Proposition 8 case from California (which has been struck down by a lower court).  Both rulings are considered victories for gay-”marriage” activists.

Bishop Daniel Jenky, of the Diocese of Peoria, address the ruling in one of his “Theology on Tap” series.  You can read about what he said in THIS ARTICLE written by Tom Dermody from the Catholic Post, the newspaper of the Diocese of Peoria.

From the article:

The U.S. Supreme Court’s rulings on same-sex marriage are “another step of deconstruction for our culture” that further “distances us from biblical faith as a nation,” Bishop Daniel R. Jenky, CSC, told a group of young adults on the night of the June 26 rulings.

Taking questions in an informal pub setting during the final evening of a Peoria-based Theology on Tap series, the bishop said “heroic Christianity” will be required as those who stand up for what the church teaches face being labeled as “bigots” by some for not affirming marriage for same-sex couples.

And please pray for the United States.
